entertaining inspiration and design

Alright, day two of the Kitschy Little Man party recap! If you missed the previous posts about the invitations or party overview check them out here and here. But back to the food and drinks we had at the birthday shindig. The party was held between 3:00 – 6:00pm, so it was lots of snacks and sweet treats for our guests to enjoy – all labeled with tall menu cards secured in heavily starched men’s shirt cuffs.

Since the party was on our outdoor rooftop, we wanted to keep folks warm with a homemade Hot Cocoa and Fixings Bar complete with little peppermint candies, cinnamon candies, salted caramels, hazelnut pirouettes, whipped cream, homemade marshmallows and Kahlua for the adults. Plus, fun chocolate mustache stirrers in dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate to give the cocoa and extra boost!

To round off the Sweet Treats, we had a first birthday cake for the birthday boy, homemade “pocket square” strawberry pies and little mini cupcakes topped with adorable fondant mustaches for everyone else.

Our Savory Eats consisted of some “guy food” snack staples like the popular pigs-in-a-blanket, corn dip with tortilla chips, and caprese skewers (for guys with a healthy side) – plus our little guys had their favorite go-tos…cheerios and goldfish (any mom of a child under 3 knows to never leave home without these!).

There was of course beer and wine for the adults, plus other refreshments at the beverage station – and guests could keep track of their bottle drinks easily with the mustache bottle toppers.

Come back Monday for the decor and not-to-be-missed kids party favors done by one of my crafty friends, Jen of www.shopsnughaven.com.
