{Gender Reveal} :: Handsome Fella or Lil’ Lady?

September 11th, 2012 at 8:21 am. Posted in Party.

I shared the invitations for this party last week, and I’m thrilled to post these photos for this baby gender reveal party which was recently featured on Pizzazzerie, Hostess With the Mostess, and Lil’ Sugar Editor’s Choice. I wanted to create something that could get guys, girls and kiddos excited, so I chose a Sky Blue and Cherry Red and Apple Green color scheme, all set against black and white patterns. Enjoy the details and photos below, the invitations and partie kit are available on my Etsy shop.

The Voting Station gets guests involved in the party and is bound to start cocktail chatter when people don their I VOTED stickers – with lips or mustaches depending on their vote. For the big reveal, I wanted to do something, well…BIG. I’m loving the extra large round balloons these days, so I opted to have a giant balloon “float” out of the box for the parents’ reveal. No leaning over shoulders to see what’s inside the cake filling…just look up!

For the party favors I working with Sweet Shop Cookie Co to create coordinating sugar cookies for the party favors, which were stuffed in black + white chevron bags from Shop Sweet Lulu.

This is the cutest ideas for gender reveal EVER! I am partial to all things blue and red so the colors are what really caught my eye. Thanks for posting.

    I adore this!

I have few ideas of what I want to do when it comes to my own designs but I have always been bad at mixing fonts. How do you do it?

Hi! Thank you :) I spend a lot of research finding fonts and lots of time typesetting :)

Lovely! We absolutely love this! I especially love the very grown up feel to this reveal. It’s so sophisticated. Well, done!

Hi! Love the party theme and color scheme! Question, did you make the tissue garland yourself or purchase it from Etsy? Thanks!

Hi Ashley – I made the garland myself for this shoot, but have ordered often from TheFlairExchange on Etsy.com! She’s amazing! Also, I get lots of questions about the little PomPom Cake Toppers, here’s the tutorial I used:www.6bittersweets.com/2011/05/diy-pom-pom-cupcake-topper-tutorial-and.html

I just ordered the Gender Reveal Kit and Invitation from your Etsy site! I’m pretty much obsessed and can’t wait until our gender reveal party :)

I do have one question for you, though — what did you do for paper plates and napkins? I’m trying to find either cute black & white (preferably chevron) plates and napkins that don’t break the bank, but I’m coming up short. I could always go with the “green apple” color, but I’m not sure it would match what I’m finding online.

Also, where did you buy the tissue paper for the tassels? I’ll be making these as well and want to make sure the colors match.

    Thanks!!
    Carly

Thanks Carly B! I got all my stuff from ShopSweetLulu.com in black and white, they have stripes and polka dots and chevron! I recommend TheFlairExchange on Etsy.com for the Tassel Garland if you’d like to order it made, otherwise you can purchase the tissue paper from Paper-Source.com in aqua, red and chartreuse.
