entertaining inspiration and design

This holiday season I had the pleasure (and career highlight!) of working with the lovely ladies of the Los Angeles-based stationery shop, Sugar Paper, to plan their annual Holiday Party. This year was extra special though, because it also marked the 10 year anniversary of the famed shop. Planning started in late September, and the event took place mid-December at their Los Angeles Studio. Delighted to share a few photos from the event, read on for more details and shots. The event was also covered by MSN Glo, you can check it out here.

The studio is located in the back building of a warehouse-chic industrial space. To welcome guests to the event, globe lights glowed from the tops of the two buildings with luminaries lighting the path below. Beautiful vintage doors from Found Vintage Rentals were propped at the entry, slanted inward to usher guests to the party.

We turned the parking lot into a cozy outdoor space, warmed with several heat lamps. Anchoring the space was lounge area framed by an antique wood pergola, all pieces by Found Vintage Rentals. Drapery flowed from the pergola creating a welcoming little gathering spot that was packed throughout the entire event.

On the side was a wood-burning pizza oven, and Urban Oven prepared delicious artisan pizzas all night long. And no party is ever complete without some libations – festive cocktails were freshly served up by the mixologist crew of Pharmacie LA (side note, my favorite planning meetings was when we tasted-tested and curated the drink list for the event!). Guests could balance out the cocktails with gourmet espressos and coffee drinks from the coffee bar, brewed up by the baristas at Longshot Coffee.

And all that was just OUTSIDE! Once inside the space, there was another food station and full bar. Plus, a delightful jazz trio from LA Jazz Bands playing jazz classics into the night.

In true Sugar Paper fashion, we kept to the less is more motto and stuck to a classic black, white and gold color scheme with pops of green. Boxwood wreaths adorned the large warehouse windows, and simple, yet elegant florals by Katie Saffert decorated the tables.

At the end of the evening, guests went home with plenty of Sugar Paper goodies as well as Morning Pick-Me-Ups from Pressed Juicery. It was such an honor to work with the Sugar Paper team and be part of such a milestone celebration!
